Wedge Envy

Wednesday 11 July 2012

I don’t normally like New Look’s style clothes-wise, but I have to say, their shoes lately have been phenom! Especially for their high street prices. It’s not a store I normally shop in, but since I found my Tortoise Heeled Courts in there on an off-chance visit a while ago, I’ve found myself perusing their online shoe gallery more and more often.

I love a good wedge, especially for the Summer months, and they’re much easier to walk in than stilettos. But my general rule remains the same: go high or go home. The higher the better as far I’m concerned.

Tentative Decisions

Sunday 8 July 2012
A girl can never have too many accessories as far as I’m concerned..I say with my whole toolbox, yes toolbox full of jewellery. So I’m always on the lookout for something new (or two). Handmade raw crystal jewellery company, Tentative Decisions are my latest fascination. God knows I love a bit of unique jewellery, and the pieces on here really hit the fashion spot! Each piece is handmade and unique, and as the crystals are naturally sourced, no item is ever identical.

Here are some of my faves from their website..

Move over Spencer Pratt, there’s a new crystal clepto in town!

Essex's answer to vintage - Bella Sorella

Saturday 7 July 2012

As unlikely as it first seemed that a TOWIE star would become one of my style icons, Lydia Rose Bright has proven the Essex Girl stereotype wrong, and is now firmly on my list. Being from Essex myself, it’s refreshing to see someone going against the grain with their fashion choices.
Anyone that knows me well, will know I love vintage-inspired pieces, and am more than a little obsessed with vintage fashion. So Lydia’s vintage boutique Bella Sorella, provides the perfect antidote to aid my obsession, without having to traipse to London to search out hip markets and the like.
Here are a couple of my favourite pieces from Bella Sorella’s online store..let me know what you think?

Spring Awakening

My last few manicures have been quite bright, and novelty-inspired, so I decided to go for a more toned down look this time.

I chose a beautiful neutral lavender-based creme polish, Soar, from Jessica’s second Spring collection this year, Spring Awakening. I thought the colour was really feminine and elegant looking, and made a nice change from the type of colours I’ve been having lately.

Classic me though, I couldn’t leave it at just that. So I had glitter tips put on my pinkies for a little added pizzazz. The rainbow glitter flecks in OPI’s Bring On The Bling, bring out the muted lavender base of the nude polish, and just put the glitter cherry on the manicure.

A simple yet effective way to spice up neutral-toned nails, without going OTT. Perf!

2012 Spring Awakening Collection

The six polishes of the Spring Awakening collection, are “the new neutrals” says Jessica Vartoughian, founder and CEO of Jessica. She describes the collection as “versatile, sophisticated, understated with a touch of fun.” As well as Soar, there’s Monarch, Sky High, Wing It, Flutter, and Sunrise. Confident neutral, Flutter is another shade I’ve tried, but didn’t get chance to blog about at the time. I teamed this slate grey polish with one nail on each hand in Enchantress, a vibrant yet muted coral shade from Jessica’s Runway collection. Oh, and a peace sign stick-on, just for funsies!
